RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Reviewing shop and erection drawings from outside detailers prior to release for production for constructability, dimensional accuracy, and conformance to company standards.
• This position requires both office time and jobsite visits. Will require proper Personal Protective Equipment (Ie: Hardhat, boots, high visibility vest & eye protection). Jobsite visits will require applicant to be exposed to different weather conditions (hot, cold, rainy,  etc.), excessive noise, dusty conditions, heights, etc.

• Assist in maintaining and updating company detailing standards
• Assist Project Managers with field measurements and presenting those measurements to the detailers.
• Provide sketches for RFI’s, shop or field clarifications or fabrication.
• Assist project managers with submittal package review
• Assist with means and methods implementation
• Effectively communicate with all departments touched by this position.
• Effectively manage time to keep up with necessary volume.

All Things Metal is a structural and miscellaneous steel fabricator and erector located in Phoenix, Arizona. We are seeking a dedicated fitter/welder to join our fabrication shop in Phoenix for a full-time, Monday-Friday position. We are only interested in skilled professionals who can produce efficiently and meet required deadlines.

All Things Metal is a fast-paced environment with an existing culture in a challenging industry. We are looking for fitter/welders to help take us to the next level and that are here to stay. This isn’t a temporary position where you’ll be laid off in a couple of months after you complete a job. You will have a minimum of 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities –

• Accurately Layout & Fit-up of steel per shop drawings
• Properly set up welding machine/wire feeder for welding – and adjust settings as required during welding
• Verify and ensure fit-up of full penetration welds comply with plans, AWS D1.1, welding requirements, and quality control
• Ability to read and adequately interpret shop drawings
• Ability to perform welds per AWS D1.1 specification.
• Perform clean welds with no inclusions, undercut, or porosity.
• Cleaning of all slag/splatter from welds and surrounding area
• Ensure equipment used is properly maintained/stored during/after use
• Grinding/Cleaning/Beveling fit-up of welds when required

Advantages, but not required:

• MIG Welding with solid core gas-shielded wire (Light welding of railings/misc. steel)
• Ability to weld mild steel over 1-1/2″ thickness

Requirements –

• 3-5 years experience in structural steel Fitting, layout, and welding using the Flux Cored welding process
• Candidate must be able to read and interpret shop drawings & plans.
• The candidate should be safety-oriented (OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 a plus)
• A team player, punctual, and motivated
• Applicant must pass in-shop layout/fit-up test.
• Must be able to bring your welding hood/gloves/jacket as you will be given a fillet test to ensure proper tack welding abilities as well.
• Valid Identification
• Background tests and drug screening will be done prior to hire

Fitter/welders must be physically able to:

• Lift and carry objects weighing more than 50 lbs.
• Stoop, kneel, crawl, lay, bend, squat, stand and walk for long periods of time
• Work outdoors in all weather conditions

• Review bid plans to determine scope.
• Clarify any ambiguities with the client.
• Complete steel takeoff in Bluebeam & Tekla
• Review bid for project-specific nuances (access, special conditions, etc.…)
• Draft clear bid inclusions & exclusions

An Ironworker at All Things Metal is responsible for the accurate erection of structural steel members in accordance with OSHA and AISC guidelines.

Schedule:

• 7:00AM-5:00PM Monday-Thursday (one hour lunch and two 15-minute breaks)
• 7:00AM-11:00AM Friday, no lunch

Duties:

• Process in Sage Contractor 100 expenses to accounts and cost centers by analyzing invoices, purchase orders, expense reports & recorded entries. 
• Pays vendors by scheduling and preparing checks, ACH payments and credit card transactions. 

• Resolves & reconciles monthly statements, invoice or payment discrepancies as well as purchase order and contract issues. 
• Pays employees by receiving and verifying expense reports and requests for advances. 
• Verifies vendor accounts, maintains W-9’s and certificates of insurance. Responsible to updates vendor information. 
• Experienced with construction contracts, AIA billings, preliminary notices and lien waivers. 

• Knowledge of sales tax, sales tax requirements for retail sales, prime contracting & MRRA projects and TPT reporting. 
• Manages finance department email account and department calls. 
• Assists with year end procedures, insurance renewals and audits and other special projects as needed. 

Requirements:

• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening prior to hire (ATM maintains a drug- and alcohol-free workplace)
• 3-5 years of related experience processing construction accounts payable
• Understanding of lien waivers
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and computer skills relevant to an accounts payable position, with at least one year of recent applicable experience
• Friendliness, enthusiasm, reliability, with a positive “team-player” attitude
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to meet deadlines
• Strong work-ethic with ability to multi-task
• Experience with Sage contracting software a plus
