Fitter / Welder




All Things Metal is a structural and miscellaneous steel fabricator and erector located in Phoenix, Arizona. We are seeking a dedicated fitter/welder to join our fabrication shop in Phoenix for a full-time, Monday-Friday position. We are only interested in skilled professionals who can produce efficiently and meet the required deadlines.
All Things Metal is a fast-paced environment with an existing culture in a challenging industry. We are looking for fitter/welders to help take us to the next level and that are here to stay. This isn’t a temporary position where you’ll be laid off in a couple of months after you complete a job. You will have a minimum of 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities –
- Accurately Layout & Fit-up of steel per shop drawings
- Properly set up welding machine/wire feeder for welding – and adjust settings as required during welding
- Verify and ensure fit-up of full penetration welds comply with plans, AWS D1.1, welding requirements, and quality control
- Ability to read and adequately interpret shop drawings
- Ability to perform welds per AWS D1.1 specification.
- Perform clean welds with no inclusions, undercut, or porosity.
- Cleaning of all slag/splatter from welds and surrounding area
- Ensure equipment used is properly maintained/stored during/after use
- Grinding/Cleaning/Beveling fit-up of welds when required
Advantages, but not required:
- MIG Welding with solid core gas-shielded wire (Light welding of railings/misc. steel)
- Ability to weld mild steel over 1-1/2″ thickness
Requirements –
- 3-5 years experience in structural steel Fitting, layout, and welding using the Flux Cored welding process
- Candidate must be able to read and interpret shop drawings & plans.
- The candidate should be safety-oriented (OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 a plus)
- A team player, punctual, and motivated
- Applicant must pass in-shop layout/fit-up test.
- Must be able to bring your welding hood/gloves/jacket as you will be given a fillet test to ensure proper tack welding abilities as well.
- Valid Identification
- Background tests and drug screening will be done prior to hire
Fitters/welders must be physically able to:
- Lift and carry objects weighing more than 50 lbs.
- Stoop, kneel, crawl, lay, bend, squat, stand and walk for long periods of time
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions

Field Ironworker / Welder




All Things Metal is seeking a dedicated full-time Ironworker to join our team.
All Things Metal is a fast-paced environment with an existing culture in a challenging industry. We are looking for individuals to help take us to the next level and that are here to stay. This isn’t a temporary position where you’ll be laid off in a couple months after you complete a job. We have steady work, with a minimum of 40 hours per week. This position does not require travel outside of AZ and is not per diem.
An Ironworker at All Things Metal is responsible for the accurate erection of structural steel members in accordance with OSHA and AISC guidelines.
This position requires ability to work steel efficiently and accurately to build a level and plumb building in a fast-paced environment.
We are searching for someone to accomplish raising, positioning, aligning and connecting columns beams and other structural members to complete structural framing.
Requirements:
- Ability to weld 3G & 4G SMAW
- Ability to weld 3G & 4G FCAW
- Bolt up structural members
- Ability to read Erection and Shop Drawings
- Ability to fabricate structural members in the field
- Ability to plumb a column
- Must have experience installing stairs, guardrails, and grab rails
- Plumbing of Structural Steel
- Ability to use gridlines and benchmarks to complete layout

- Knowledge of commercial construction.

Duties and responsibilities:

- Work with our detailing subcontractor to ensure submittal drawings and fabrication drawings are complete, accurate, and ready to be released.
- Evaluate all contract documents including all bid drawings, specifications, and general conditions to include review of Architectural, and Structural design drawings
- Develop project strategy to ensure gross margin success
- Manage awarded projects from beginning to end
- Assist with scheduling of project between customer, management and subcontractors
- Create, track, & follow through on change orders
- Maintain relationships with customers (internal and external)
- Maintain long lead schedule
- Be accountable to every aspect of the job
- Follow company values, standards, safety guidelines and/or jobsite safety guidelines.

- Coordinates schedules with detailing, purchasing, fabrication, and erection
- Facilitate Iron-Strong Expectation meetings with each new job
- Enforce Production Workflow responsibilities
- Confirm, break-out by phase & strategize all parts of scope (detailing, materials, etc.)
- Coordinate Iron-Strong Expectation meetings with each new job to include GC PM, GC Superintendent, ATM PM, ATM Principle
Requirements:
- Valid Arizona driver’s license

- 3-5 years of related experience as a project/construction manager
